As a High Voltage Charging Station Electrician at EV Careers in Madison, MS, you will be at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining and installing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the area. This job is not for the faint-hearted and requires a good understanding of high-voltage systems and a commitment to safety.

Your Daily Tasks as a High Voltage Charging Station Electrician

Your day-to-day tasks will involve installing, inspecting, and servicing high-voltage charging stations for electric vehicles. You will be required to connect these stations to site power distribution and troubleshoot any load balancing and communication issues that may arise.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for configuring backend system integrations and testing system output. Ensuring compliance with NEC, NEMA, and safety standards will be a crucial part of your role.

You will also be responsible for documenting test results and inspections. Other daily activities may include collaborating with other team members on larger projects, traveling between sites to service charging stations and responding to emergency repair calls.

What You Need to Be a High Voltage Charging Station Electrician

To be successful in this role, you will need a high-voltage electrician license and experience installing DC fast chargers and Level 3 EVSE. Knowledge of power distribution systems and networking for chargers is crucial.

It’s also important that you’re capable of reading site plans and permits, and have a strong understanding of safety procedures and documentation. Ideally, you will have spent 4-6 years in the field as a High Voltage Charging Station Electrician or a similar role.

A commitment to quality, a keen eye for detail, and a strong work ethic are must-have skills. You should also be comfortable working under pressure and capable of meeting tight deadlines.
