The High Voltage Battery Electrician Position

As a High Voltage Battery Electrician, you will be a crucial part of our team, working closely with other professionals under the direct supervision of a Senior Electrician. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing performance issues, conducting thermal/voltage testing, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. You will work on a variety of projects and environments, ranging from residential to commercial installations. Core High Voltage Battery Electrician Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include installing and maintaining high-voltage battery systems for EV or energy storage applications. You will diagnose performance issues, conduct thermal/voltage testing, ensure compliance with safety standards, and integrate batteries with inverters and charge controllers. You will also be expected to maintain logs and test data, assist with field retrofits and emergency repairs, and handle advanced technical duties, such as complex system troubleshooting and performance optimization. Safety protocols are a priority; hence, adherence to them is non-negotiable.

Required Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate will hold an electrical license and a battery safety certification. They should have considerable experience, at least 4-6 years, with lithium-ion and high-capacity storage systems. Knowledge of charge-discharge cycles, BMS systems, and thermal management is essential. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate PPE and safety knowledge for high-voltage DC.

Tools & Equipment

As a High Voltage Battery Electrician, you’ll be expected to proficiently use a variety of tools, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and specialized battery testing equipment. Personal tools should include standard electrician tools, but the company will provide specialized equipment.

Physical Requirements

This role involves physical labor, including lifting heavy batteries and equipment, often exceeding 50 pounds. The working conditions may vary, with both outdoor and indoor work required. Appropriate safety gear, including gloves, safety glasses, and high-voltage protective equipment, is mandatory.
