What You’ll Do as a High Voltage Battery Electrician

As a High Voltage Battery Electrician, you’ll be a critical part of our team here at EV Careers in North Charleston, SC. You’ll be working on various projects, including installing and maintaining high-voltage battery systems for electric vehicles and energy storage applications. You’ll also be diagnosing performance issues, conducting thermal/voltage testing, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Your Daily Tasks as a High Voltage Battery Electrician

Your primary duty as a High Voltage Battery Electrician will be to install and maintain high-voltage battery systems for EV or energy storage applications. You’ll also diagnose performance issues and conduct thorough thermal/voltage testing to ensure our systems are operating at their peak.

Safety is a key focus, so you’ll be expected to ensure compliance with safety standards at all times. Other tasks include integrating batteries with inverters and charge controllers, maintaining logs and test data, and assisting with field retrofits and emergency repairs.

To keep everything running smoothly, you’ll need to perform routine maintenance checks and repairs, troubleshoot electrical problems, and stay on top of any emerging technologies or best practice standards in the industry.

What You Need to Be a High Voltage Battery Electrician

In terms of qualifications, you’ll need an electrical license with battery safety certification. You should also have experience with lithium-ion and high-capacity storage systems. Knowledge of charge-discharge cycles, BMS systems, and thermal management is essential.

Additionally, you need to be proficient in PPE and safety knowledge for high-voltage DC. We’re looking for someone with 4-6 years of experience in the field as a High Voltage Battery Electrician. Hands-on abilities, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety are must-haves in this role.
