The High Voltage Battery Electrician Position
As a High Voltage Battery Electrician, you will be a vital part of our team, responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of high-voltage battery systems. You’ll work in a variety of environments, ranging from EV workshops to energy storage facilities, under the guidance and supervision of experienced team leaders. Core High Voltage Battery Electrician Responsibilities
Your core responsibilities will include installing and maintaining high-voltage battery systems for EV or energy storage applications. You will diagnose performance issues and conduct thermal and voltage testing, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Your duties will also involve integrating batteries with inverters and charge controllers, maintaining logs and test data, and assisting with field retrofits and emergency repairs. You’ll also be expected to manage advanced technical duties such as calibrating BMS systems, conducting advanced thermal management, and implementing regional-specific project protocols. Safety is paramount in our operations, hence you will be expected to adhere to stringent safety protocols.
Required Experience & Skills
We require an electrical license with battery safety certification and a minimum of 4-6 years of experience as a High Voltage Battery Electrician. You should also have experience with lithium-ion and high-capacity storage systems, and have a thorough understanding of charge-discharge cycles, BMS systems, and thermal management. Knowledge of appropriate PPE and safety procedures for working with high-voltage DC is essential.
Tools & Equipment
Our High Voltage Battery Electricians use a variety of specific tools daily, including high-voltage multimeters, thermal imaging cameras, and advanced battery management system diagnostic tools. You will be expected to have your own set of basic electrician’s tools, while specialized equipment will be provided by the company.
Physical Requirements
This role involves lifting heavy batteries and other equipment, so you must be physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. You will often work in challenging conditions, and will need to wear safety gear including safety glasses, gloves, and high-voltage protective clothing.
