What You’ll Do as an EVSE High Voltage Electrician

As an EVSE High Voltage Electrician at EV Careers in Central, LA, you’ll play a crucial role in our expanding operations. We’re currently working on several commercial and fleet facilities, and as a part of our team, you’ll be involved in installing and commissioning high-voltage EVSE systems on these sites. This position is hands-on and requires someone who can manage their time efficiently, work with precision, and handle the pressures of working with high-voltage systems.

Your Daily Tasks as an EVSE High Voltage Electrician

A typical day as an EVSE High Voltage Electrician involves installing and commissioning high-voltage EVSE systems at various commercial and fleet facilities. You’ll be required to perform load calculations, run conduit and wiring for 480V+ systems, and calibrate chargers. Ensuring all systems are fully operational, you’ll complete testing procedures and coordinate with network providers and utility representatives. Maintaining accurate documentation of all installations and as-builts will also be a critical part of your role. In addition, you’ll troubleshoot and repair any issues that arise with the systems, participate in safety meetings, and keep up-to-date with the latest industry developments and technologies.

What You Need to Be an EVSE High Voltage Electrician

To be successful as an EVSE High Voltage Electrician, you must be a licensed electrician with several years of EVSE installation experience. We require a minimum of 3-5 years in the field and high-voltage experience (480V+). A good understanding of OCPP standards, load balancing, and utility interconnection is also essential. As for skills, we’re looking for someone with strong diagnostic and field commissioning skills, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
