The Electrician Apprentice Position

As an Electrician Apprentice on our team, you’ll play a pivotal role in our operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve participating in the full cycle of EV infrastructure installations, assembling and disassembling EV panels and disconnects under supervision, installing wire trays, and mounting systems. You’ll also measure and cut conduit accurately, track inventory, and log hours diligently. Prior to each shift, you will complete safety checklists and hazard assessments. You’ll also be tasked with applying national and local electrical codes daily. You’ll work under the supervision of experienced electricians and have ample opportunities for growth within EV Careers.

Core Electrician Apprentice Responsibilities

In addition to the tasks mentioned above, you’ll also handle more advanced technical duties. These include troubleshooting electrical faults, conducting preventive maintenance on EV infrastructure, and programming and testing EV charging systems. You’ll work on regional projects, which may include installing EV charging stations in commercial complexes and residential buildings. Safety is paramount at EV Careers, and you’ll be expected to strictly adhere to our safety protocols at all times.

Required Experience & Skills

To be considered for this role, you should be currently registered with a state-recognized apprenticeship program, with at least 2 years of experience on construction or EV job sites. Proficiency with basic hand tools and power drills is required, and you should be eager to learn high-voltage applications. CPR and First Aid certifications are a plus, as is a positive attitude and a coachable mindset.

Tools & Equipment

As an Electrician Apprentice, you’ll use a range of tools on a daily basis, including wire strippers, multimeters, and power drills. You’re expected to bring your own basic hand tools, while the company will provide specialty equipment such as conduit benders, cable pullers, and insulation resistance testers.

Physical Requirements

The Electrician Apprentice role involves lifting heavy objects, so you should be physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs. You’ll be working in various conditions, both indoor and outdoor, and in all weather types. Safety gear such as hard hats, safety boots, and gloves are required at all times.
