What You’ll Do as a DC Infrastructure Electrician

As a DC Infrastructure Electrician at EV Careers, you’ll be a vital part of our Greenwood, SC team. Our current projects span various industries, including telecom, solar, and battery backup systems. Your role will be hands-on, dealing with the installation and maintenance of direct current infrastructure. This role is not just about technical skills, but also about understanding how these systems work and ensuring they are safe and compliant with all codes and standards.

Your Daily Tasks as a DC Infrastructure Electrician

Your day-to-day work will involve various tasks related to DC systems. This includes installing and maintaining wiring, conduits, and panels, and working with low- and medium-voltage DC systems. You will ensure that all work is compliant with relevant codes and safety regulations.

In addition, you will support telecom, solar, and battery backup systems, troubleshoot control circuits, and coordinate with engineers on layout and system design. You may also find yourself terminating cabling for distributed systems or working on a new installation. Every day will bring new challenges and opportunities to use your skills and knowledge.

What You Need to Be a DC Infrastructure Electrician

To be successful in this role, you need to be a licensed electrician with experience in DC wiring. You should have a strong understanding of DC system behavior and safety, and be able to install and terminate cabling for distributed systems.

Experience with telecom, solar, or battery systems is preferred. In terms of time in the field, we’re looking for someone with 3-5 years of experience as a DC Infrastructure Electrician.

Key skills for this role include detail-oriented, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork. You should also be comfortable working in various conditions, as our projects often require working outdoors or in industrial settings.
