The Commercial Electrician Position

Becoming a Commercial Electrician with our team entails shouldering a significant amount of responsibilities. Day-to-day duties include planning, installing, and maintaining electrical systems in commercial buildings, as well as troubleshooting and repairing power distribution systems. You’ll work on diverse projects, often in dynamic and challenging environments. Core Commercial Electrician Responsibilities

As a Commercial Electrician, your core responsibilities will include installing and maintaining electrical systems in commercial buildings, troubleshooting and repairing power distribution systems, and ensuring compliance with safety codes. You’ll also be required to implement lighting control systems, plan and execute electrical upgrades, and manage materials and tools for projects. Other duties include coordinating with other construction teams, inspecting and testing installations for quality assurance, documenting work progress and maintenance records, mentoring apprentices and junior electricians, providing on-site technical expertise, supporting emergency power system installations, and integrating energy-efficient solutions into designs. Additionally, you’ll be expected to perform advanced technical duties such as overseeing major installations, developing project-specific electrical designs, and implementing rigorous safety protocols.

Required Experience & Skills

To excel in this role, you should have a relevant electrical certification or licensure, a strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams. Hands-on experience with power tools and diagnostic equipment is essential, as are solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of safety protocols and building codes is a must, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Good communication and organizational skills are crucial, as is physical capability to handle electrical tools and equipment. We require a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Commercial Electrician.

Tools & Equipment

On a daily basis, our Commercial Electricians use a variety of tools including voltmeters, ammeters, cable cutters, and power drills. You’ll need to provide your own set of hand tools, while larger equipment such as power generators and heavy-duty drills will be provided by the company.

Physical Requirements

This role involves significant physical exertion, including lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces. You’ll often work in varying conditions, from hot, dusty construction sites to air-conditioned office spaces. Safety gear, including hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots, is required at all times on site.

Compensation Package
