As a Commercial Electrician at EV Careers in Valdosta, GA, you’ll be a vital player in our ongoing commercial projects. Your role will be diverse and challenging, ensuring that our constructions have the necessary power to operate effectively and safely. Your daily responsibilities will include installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems.

Your Daily Tasks as a Commercial Electrician

Your tasks will revolve around ensuring the effective and safe operation of electrical systems in our commercial buildings. This includes installing new systems, troubleshooting and repairing power distribution systems, and ensuring compliance with safety codes. You’ll also be responsible for implementing lighting control systems and planning and executing electrical upgrades.

Managing materials and tools for projects, coordinating with other construction teams, and inspecting and testing installations for quality assurance will also form a significant part of your job. You’ll document work progress and maintenance records and provide mentorship to apprentices and junior electricians.

Furthermore, you’ll provide on-site technical expertise, support emergency power system installations, and integrate energy-efficient solutions into designs. You’ll also perform routine electrical maintenance, troubleshoot faulty equipment, and ensure that all work is done in compliance with relevant codes.

What You Need to Be a Commercial Electrician

To be considered for this role, you should have at least 3-5 years of experience as a Commercial Electrician. Relevant electrical certification or licensure is preferred, along with a strong understanding of commercial electrical systems.

You should be able to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams, and have hands-on experience with power tools and diagnostic equipment. Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are key, as is knowledge of safety protocols and building codes.

Good communication and organizational skills are essential, as you’ll be working both independently and as part of a team. Physically, you should be capable of handling electrical tools and equipment.
