The Commercial Electrician Position

Core Commercial Electrician Responsibilities

Our Commercial Electricians are tasked with installing and maintaining electrical systems in commercial buildings, troubleshooting and repairing power distribution systems, and ensuring compliance with safety codes. They implement lighting control systems, plan and execute electrical upgrades, and manage materials and tools for projects. They also coordinate with other construction teams, inspect and test installations for quality assurance, and document work progress and maintenance records. Additionally, they mentor apprentices and junior electricians, provide on-site technical expertise, support emergency power system installations, and integrate energy-efficient solutions into designs.

Required Experience & Skills

We require our Commercial Electricians to have a relevant electrical certification or licensure, a strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams. They should have hands-on experience with power tools and diagnostic equipment, solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and knowledge of safety protocols and building codes. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Commercial Electrician is essential.

Tools & Equipment

Our Commercial Electricians frequently use a variety of tools, including wire strippers, voltage testers, and conduit benders. While we provide most of the necessary equipment, we require our electricians to have their own basic hand tools.

Physical Requirements
