The Commercial Apprentice Position

As a Commercial Apprentice on our team, you play a vital role in supporting complex electrical installations. Your day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting basic blueprints, pulling wire through raceways, and installing low-voltage control wiring for smart EV systems. You will also maintain records of material use and time logs, and learn commercial code requirements. Our team structure involves close supervision and guidance from experienced professionals, providing ample opportunities for growth within EV Careers.

Core Commercial Apprentice Responsibilities

A key part of your role as a Commercial Apprentice will be to assist in commercial-grade EV electrical installations. You will also be expected to perform advanced technical duties such as supporting panel upgrades and load center installations. Safety is paramount in our operations, and you will be required to adhere to strict safety protocols at all times. Regional project specifics will vary, and you will receive comprehensive training to ensure success in any environment.

Required Experience & Skills

To qualify for this position, you must have completed at least 1 year in an apprenticeship program and have a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience as a Commercial Apprentice. Essential certifications include an understanding of commercial wiring systems and the ability to read simple one-line diagrams. OSHA 10-hour certification is preferred. You must have strong math and measuring skills, with a keen attention to detail and ability to follow instructions exactly.

Tools & Equipment

Our Commercial Apprentices use a range of tools on a daily basis, including wire strippers, diagonal cutting pliers, and multimeters. You will need your own set of basic hand tools, while we will provide all specialty and power tools, as well as any necessary safety equipment.

Physical Requirements

This position involves considerable physical work. You may be required to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and work in various conditions, including heights and confined spaces. Safety gear, including hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots, are mandatory.

Compensation Package

Our Commercial Apprentices earn a competitive salary ranging from $20.81-$27.18 per hour, depending on experience.
