What You’ll Do as an Apprentice Electrician

As an Apprentice Electrician at EV Careers in Douglasville, GA, you’ll be on the front lines of our innovative electric vehicle charging station installations. Our projects range from residential installations to large-scale commercial and industrial setups. The day-to-day work of an Apprentice Electrician is hands-on, practical, and always evolving. Your Daily Tasks as an Apprentice Electrician

Your workday as an Apprentice Electrician will be rich with learning and hands-on experience. You’ll assist in installing and testing EV charging stations, pulling wire and bending conduit under the guidance of our seasoned professionals. In addition, you’ll ensure that tools and the worksite are always clean and safe. You’ll also start learning to read blueprints and circuit diagrams and familiarize yourself with the NEC guidelines for low-voltage and 240V installations.

Attending weekly safety meetings and hands-on training sessions will be a crucial part of your professional development. You’ll also have the opportunity to shadow journeyman electricians during EVSE installations and repairs. Other daily activities include troubleshooting electrical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and collaborating with team members on project planning and execution.

What You Need to Be an Apprentice Electrician

To join us as an Apprentice Electrician, you’ll need to be enrolled in a certified electrician apprenticeship program and have a basic understanding of electrical theory and safety. You should be willing to work in outdoor and industrial environments and be able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.

Strong communication and team collaboration skills are crucial, as you’ll be working closely with other electricians and teams. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are also a must. Prior experience in the electrical field as an apprentice, while not mandatory, is definitely a plus.
