Residential Journeyman Position Overview

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As a Residential Journeyman with Prime Partners, your day will be filled with dynamic tasks, including electrical installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance in various residential settings. You will be expected to demonstrate a high level of skill and autonomy while adhering to safety standards and project timelines.

Advanced Technical Duties

• Execute complex wiring retrofits on older structures.
• Run conduit and terminate circuits with precision.
• Replace outdated electrical components to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Coordinate with site supervisors to align project goals with client expectations.

Regional Project Specifics

You’ll work on various regional projects, including senior housing renovations and other prevailing wage jobs. Each project demands a keen eye for detail and adherence to specific local codes and standards.

Safety Protocols

Adhering to strict safety protocols is a must. You’ll be responsible for maintaining daily logs, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring your team follows all safety guidelines to create a secure working environment.

Qualifications

Licensing and Experience

• A valid North Carolina Journeyman Electrician License is required.
• A minimum of 6-8 years of hands-on experience in residential construction and retrofits is essential.
• Proven ability to manage small teams effectively.

Essential Certifications and Technical Knowledge

• Extensive knowledge of the NEC and North Carolina-specific codes.
• Previous experience with government-funded construction work is preferred.
• A clean driving record and possession of personal hand tools are required.
