What You’ll Do as an Electrician

At Prime Partners, this electrician role is hands-on from the moment you hit the jobsite. We’re working on commercial projects in and around Redondo Beach, and we need someone who can keep up with the pace, work clean, and do solid electrical work without needing to be watched every step of the way. Day to day, you’ll be out in the field installing, bending, running, and wiring the systems that keep a building moving. This is not a sit-around-the-trailer kind of job. You’ll be on your feet, reading the work, solving problems, and getting material in place the right way.

Your Daily Tasks as an Electrician

Most days, you’ll start by checking the plans, looking over the layout, and figuring out what needs to happen next. You’ll be installing conduit, bending EMT with accuracy, and setting up runs so everything lines up clean and tight. You’ll also be installing panels, disconnects, lighting, and branch circuits, along with pulling wire and making connections as the project moves forward. You’ll need to read prints and execute layout independently, because we expect electricians here to know how to work from drawings and get the job done without a lot of hand-holding. Keeping the work area clean matters too. That means staying organized, stacking material properly, and making sure your space doesn’t slow down the next crew. A big part of the job is coordination. You’ll be working around plumbers, HVAC, drywall crews, and other trades, so you need to stay aware, communicate clearly, and keep the job moving without stepping on anyone else’s work. Other common daily tasks include troubleshooting basic wiring issues, checking devices for proper operation, and helping with final trim-out and punch list work when the project gets close to completion.

What You Need to Be an Electrician

We’re looking for someone with 3 to 6 years of field experience as an electrician, preferably on commercial jobs. You need to be strong with conduit bending, comfortable reading blueprints and schematics, and solid on NEC requirements and jobsite safety. You should know how to work independently, stay reliable, and keep quality high without someone standing over your shoulder. Must-have skills include: - Accurate EMT bending and conduit installation - Ability to read and follow electrical drawings - Experience installing panels, lighting, disconnects, and circuits - Strong understanding of safe work practices - Good communication and jobsite coordination - Dependable work ethic and steady pace
