Commercial Electrician at Prime Partners
About Our Commercial Electrician Team
At Prime Partners, we take pride in being a trusted name in commercial construction throughout Burbank, CA, and the surrounding communities that keep the region moving forward. As a Senior Commercial Electrician with 20 years of field experience, I can say with confidence that the electricians who thrive here are the ones who understand that quality electrical work is the backbone of every successful commercial build. Our team supports a wide range of projects, from tenant improvements and ground-up retail spaces to office buildings, medical suites, industrial facilities, restaurants, schools, and multi-use commercial developments. We also regularly work in nearby cities such as Glendale, Pasadena, North Hollywood, Glendale, Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys, and other parts of the greater Los Angeles area, which means our electricians stay busy on fast-moving projects with real variety. Prime Partners has built a strong reputation in Burbank for dependable craftsmanship, professional jobsite conduct, and the ability to keep projects on schedule without sacrificing safety or code compliance. If you are an experienced Commercial Electrician who takes pride in clean work, accurate layout, and solving problems in the field, you will find this to be a place where your skills are respected and your contributions matter.
The Commercial Electrician Position
As a Commercial Electrician on our team, you will be a key part of the electrical installation process from rough-in through final trim, testing, and turnover. This is a hands-on position for someone who knows how to work efficiently in active construction environments and can complete high-quality electrical work with minimal supervision. Day to day, you will be installing conduit, pulling wire, mounting and wiring panels, setting fixtures, connecting equipment, and coordinating with other trades to keep the job moving. You will work in occupied and unoccupied commercial spaces, new construction sites, tenant improvement projects, and renovation environments where schedule discipline and attention to detail are critical.
Our electricians work within a structured team that may include lead electricians, foremen, superintendents, project managers, and apprentices. You will be expected to communicate clearly, follow direction, and also take initiative when field conditions require practical solutions. We value electricians who can read ahead, anticipate material needs, and identify issues before they slow down production. There is also strong growth potential within Prime Partners for those who consistently demonstrate leadership, craftsmanship, and reliability. Experienced electricians may advance into lead roles, foreman positions, or specialized project assignments based on performance, technical ability, and work ethic.
Core Commercial Electrician Responsibilities
A successful Commercial Electrician at Prime Partners will handle a wide range of essential field duties with precision and professionalism. Your core responsibilities will include installing and bending conduit, including EMT and rigid conduit, performing accurate layout for raceways and equipment, and installing panels, switchgear, disconnects, lighting systems, and related electrical components. You will be expected to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and job specifications to ensure installations are completed according to plan and code.
In addition to the fundamentals, we expect advanced technical capability in several areas. These include:
- Performing precise conduit offsets, kicks, saddles, and complex bends to fit tight commercial conditions
- Installing and terminating branch circuits, feeders, control wiring, and low-voltage raceway systems
- Troubleshooting installation issues in the field, including coordination conflicts, incomplete framing conditions, and equipment placement changes
- Verifying continuity, grounding, and system readiness before inspection and energization
- Supporting equipment hookups for HVAC units, rooftop systems, transformers, disconnects, and specialty commercial loads
- Coordinating with other trades to maintain clear pathways, proper clearances, and code-compliant installations
- Assisting with final punch list corrections, system labeling, and project closeout tasks
Because Prime Partners works throughout Burbank and surrounding cities, you may encounter a variety of project conditions, including tight retrofit spaces in older commercial buildings, fast-track tenant improvements in active business districts, and new commercial developments that require coordination with multiple trades and inspectors. You must be able to maintain production pace while still delivering clean, code-compliant work.
Safety is non-negotiable on our jobsites. You will be expected to follow all OSHA requirements, site-specific safety rules, lockout/tagout procedures, fall protection standards, ladder safety practices, and proper PPE usage. You must also maintain awareness of energized systems, verify de-energization before working, keep your work area organized, and report hazards immediately. Safe work habits protect not only you, but also your crew, the client, and the overall success of the project.
Required Experience & Skills
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrician with a minimum of 4 to 7 years of commercial electrical experience, with strong preference for candidates who have worked in fast-paced construction settings and can perform confidently without constant supervision.
