Candidates should be licensed Journeyman Electricians in Texas with extensive experience in residential retrofits and remodeling projects. An understanding of the limitations and structural challenges of historical homes is essential. Candidates should possess excellent planning and layout skills, pay meticulous attention to detail in finish work, and have the ability to collaborate with multiple trades on-site. Familiarity with GFCI/AFCI protection requirements is also necessary.

Main Remodel & Retrofit Electrician Duties

Responsibilities include work on electrical remodels in older homes, rerouting wiring, upgrading service panels, adding circuits for new appliances or additions, and ensuring compliance with modern code requirements. Removing outdated wiring safely, coordinating with general contractors and city inspectors, using diagnostic tools to confirm functionality of rewired circuits, and documenting changes for project records are also key duties.
