Core Residential Apprentice Electrician Skills

The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be a current secondary student (16+). The ability to learn and take direction from a Journeyman is essential. The candidate must obtain/maintain a Utah Apprentice Electrician license (Jonsson Electrical can assist with this). A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required. The candidate should have basic electrical hand tools as per their experience level and possess a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to teamwork.

Main Residential Apprentice Electrician Duties

The successful candidate will support journeymen on new-construction projects for single and multi-tenant homes. Duties will include staging materials, safely using hand/power tools, and learning to install boxes, devices, and fixtures. You will assist with pulling wire, labeling, and basic terminations under supervision. Other responsibilities include helping with conduit measuring/bending and MC layout, maintaining clean work areas, following safety rules, reliably reporting to assigned sites, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
