Core Journeyman Electrician Skills

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have completed a 4-year apprenticeship with certificate. A current Utah Journeyman 5504 Electrical License is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a working knowledge of NEC and electrical safety procedures, be proficient in reading blueprints/specs and executing layout. Excellent technical and interpersonal communication skills are essential. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and full hand tools are necessary.

Main Journeyman Electrician Duties

Duties include performing end-to-end electrical installation across residential, commercial, and light industrial projects; setting service equipment and raceways; installing MC/NM, panels, and lighting/controls; assisting with underground excavations and utility coordination; verifying code compliance and completing quality checks. The candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision while mentoring apprentices, maintain a safe, organized jobsite, and keep accurate material tracking.
