The Service Electrician Position

As a Service Electrician, you’ll be an essential part of our team, responsible for responding to service calls, troubleshooting electrical issues, and ensuring the smooth running of electrical systems. You’ll work in a variety of environments, from residential homes to commercial buildings. While you’ll have the independence to manage your service calls, you’ll also be part of a supportive team structure, supervised by experienced professionals. Core Service Electrician Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include responding to electrical service calls at residential or commercial sites, troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues, and installing outlets, breakers, and lighting fixtures. You’ll also be tasked with upgrading panels and systems, interacting with clients, ensuring job site cleanliness, and following all safety and code regulations. Advanced duties include managing complex electrical installations, coordinating with other construction professionals, and interpreting electrical blueprints. Safety protocols specific to our region will be an integral part of your role.

Required Experience & Skills

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a journeyman license or equivalent field experience, excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, and a strong ability to communicate with clients. Knowledge of NEC and local codes is essential, as is the ability to work independently. A clean driving record is also required. We’re looking for candidates with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Service Electrician.

Tools & Equipment

Our Service Electricians use a variety of tools, including wire strippers, multimeters, and power drills. While some personal tools are required, EV Careers will provide most of the specialized equipment needed for the job.

Physical Requirements

As a Service Electrician, you should be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be comfortable working in a variety of conditions, from cramped spaces to high elevations. You’ll need to wear safety gear, including hard hats and safety glasses.

Compensation Package

Our Service Electricians earn a competitive salary, ranging from $31.29-$36.55 per hour depending on experience.
