What You’ll Do as a Service Electrician

As a Service Electrician at EV Careers in Oxford, MS, you’ll be an integral part of our team, working on a wide range of residential and commercial projects. Your Daily Tasks as a Service Electrician

On a daily basis, you will be attending to service calls from our residential and commercial clients, troubleshooting and repairing various electrical issues. You’ll be tasked with installing outlets, breakers, and lighting fixtures, as well as upgrading panels and systems. You will also be responsible for explaining the nature of the issues and their solutions to our clients in a clear and concise manner.

Maintaining professionalism and cleanliness at the job site is of utmost importance. You’ll be expected to follow all safety and code regulations diligently. Apart from this, you will be responsible for completing service documentation and managing the inventory of your service vehicle.

Some of the common tasks you’ll be performing include running conduit, pulling wires, and connecting circuits. You might also be required to perform panel upgrades and emergency repairs.

What You Need to Be a Service Electrician

To be a successful Service Electrician, you’ll need a Journeyman license or equivalent field experience. You should have excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently. Strong communication and customer service abilities are key to this role, as you’ll be interacting with clients on a regular basis.

A comprehensive understanding of NEC and local codes is a must, as is a clean driving record. You should also have experience with service work in both residential and commercial settings. We prefer candidates who have at least 3-5 years of experience in the field as a Service Electrician.
