The Residential Electrician Position
As a Residential Electrician at EV Careers, your day-to-day responsibilities will consist of installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in homes and apartment buildings. You’ll be working in various environments, from new constructions to remodels, wiring the property, and installing outlets, lighting, and switches. You’ll also be responsible for servicing breaker panels and subpanels, troubleshooting household electrical issues, and ensuring all systems adhere to the NEC code. You’ll be part of a supportive team structure, supervised by experienced electricians, with potential for growth within the company.
Core Residential Electrician Responsibilities
In addition to the tasks mentioned above, our Residential Electricians are expected to carry out advanced technical duties such as designing and implementing complex electrical layouts, performing energy-saving audits, and installing state-of-the-art home automation systems. You’ll also be expected to work on regional project specifics like weather-proofing electrical systems. Safety is paramount at EV Careers, so following safety protocols and maintaining tools and supplies is a critical part of your role.
Required Experience & Skills
We require a valid electrical license or proof of apprenticeship completion, along with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Residential Electrician. A thorough understanding of NEC code for residential work is mandatory. You should be skilled in reading blueprints and layouts, installing outlets, lighting, and switches, and have experience with breaker panels. Excellent customer service and communication skills are crucial, along with a clean driving record.
Tools & Equipment
Our Residential Electricians use a wide range of tools, including wire strippers, circuit finders, and multimeters. You’ll be expected to have your own basic set of hand tools, while the company will provide specialized equipment and machinery.
Physical Requirements
The job involves lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds, working in various climates, and sometimes in confined spaces. Safety gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves are necessary and will be provided by the company.

Compensation Package
Our Residential Electricians enjoy a competitive salary range of $27.32-$31.53 per hour, depending on experience.
