The Journeyman Electrician Position

You will be working on a variety of projects in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Core Journeyman Electrician Responsibilities

In this role, your core responsibilities will include the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. You will interpret blueprints and technical drawings, run conduit and wiring, and troubleshoot and repair electrical issues. Also, ensuring code compliance and workplace safety is a priority. Additional responsibilities include coordinating with other trades, project managers, documenting completed work and service records, and mentoring apprentices when required. You will also be expected to maintain your tools and equipment.

Required Experience & Skills

We require a valid journeyman electrician license and a strong understanding of AC systems and electrical code. The ability to read technical plans and blueprints is essential, along with hands-on experience in wiring and breaker panels. Proficiency in troubleshooting and electrical repair and familiarity with OSHA safety regulations are also required. Good communication and organizational skills and reliable transportation are a must. We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician.

Tools & Equipment

Our Journeyman Electricians regularly use a variety of tools, including wire strippers, voltage testers, and multimeters. We expect our employees to possess their basic hand tools, but we provide larger, more specialized equipment such as power drills, conduit benders, and insulation resistance testers.

Physical Requirements

As a Journeyman Electrician, you should be prepared for lifting equipment and materials up to 50 pounds. The work conditions can sometimes be challenging, including working in tight spaces, at heights, or outdoors in all weather conditions. For safety, we require our electricians to wear safety gear like hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves.
