Key Industrial Electrician Skills

As an Industrial Electrician, you should possess an electrical journeyman license or its equivalent. You should have experience with industrial machinery and systems, a strong understanding of motor controls, PLCs, and 3-phase power. Proficiency in diagnostics and repair is a must, as well as the ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards is required as well as a team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills.

Essential Industrial Electrician Duties

Your main duties will include installing and maintaining electrical systems in manufacturing or industrial environments. You will service motors, conveyors, control panels, and high-voltage equipment. You will be expected to troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in machinery, follow lockout/tagout procedures, perform preventative maintenance, interpret technical diagrams and schematics, ensure safety compliance, document repairs and updates, and work with maintenance and engineering teams.
