Core Industrial Electrician Skills

Ideal candidates should possess a valid electrical journeyman license or equivalent. Experience with industrial machinery and systems is a must. A deep understanding of motor controls, PLCs, and 3-phase power is required. Proficiency in diagnostics and repair, coupled with the ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams is crucial. Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and a team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills is desired.

Main Industrial Electrician Duties

Responsibilities include installing and maintaining electrical systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Servicing motors, conveyors, control panels, and high-voltage equipment is a part of the daily routine. The role involves troubleshooting electrical malfunctions in machinery and following lockout/tagout procedures. Regular preventative maintenance, interpreting technical diagrams and schematics, ensuring safety compliance, documenting repairs and updates, and working with maintenance and engineering teams are also key duties.
