The High Voltage EV Electrician Position

As a High Voltage EV Electrician on our team, your responsibilities will span from interpreting technical schematics and equipment diagrams to troubleshooting and repairing EV electrical systems. You’ll work in various environments on diverse projects, ensuring all high-voltage operations meet the strictest safety protocols. Core High Voltage EV Electrician Responsibilities

Our High Voltage EV Electricians install, service, and maintain high-voltage systems for electric vehicles and associated infrastructure. They ensure safety protocols for high-voltage operations, interpret technical schematics and equipment diagrams, and troubleshoot and repair EV electrical systems. Additional responsibilities include testing insulation resistance and power delivery, coordinating with engineering teams for layout and specifications, and documenting system performance and service logs. Our electricians also ensure NEC and OSHA compliance, work on regional projects, and uphold our strict safety protocols.

Required Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses a valid electrician license with high-voltage certification and a deep knowledge of EV systems and high-voltage safety standards. Experience with EVSE equipment and protocols is required, along with proficiency in using electrical diagnostic tools and PPE for HV environments. Familiarity with energy storage systems and power electronics is advantageous. Strong technical and communication skills are essential, and a minimum of 4-6 years of experience as a High Voltage EV Electrician is desired.

Tools & Equipment

Our High Voltage EV Electricians are proficient in using specific tools such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and infrared cameras. They are expected to have their own basic hand tools, while the company provides specialized equipment like high-voltage gloves, hot sticks, and safety harnesses.

Physical Requirements

The role involves moderate to heavy lifting, and electricians often work in challenging conditions, including heights and confined spaces. Safety gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots are required.
