What You’ll Do as a High Voltage EV Electrician

As a High Voltage EV Electrician at EV Careers in Lebanon, TN, you’ll be working primarily with electric vehicle (EV) systems. Our current projects involve the installation, servicing, and maintenance of high-voltage systems for EVs and related infrastructure. You’ll be working in a hands-on environment where every day presents a new challenge.

Your Daily Tasks as a High Voltage EV Electrician

Your day-to-day tasks will see you interpreting technical schematics, equipment diagrams, and working closely with our engineering teams to ensure proper layout and specifications. You’ll be installing, servicing, and maintaining high-voltage systems, ensuring safety protocols are strictly adhered to. Troubleshooting and repairing EV electrical systems will be a regular part of your work, as well as testing insulation resistance and power delivery to ensure optimal performance.

To ensure consistency and quality, you’ll be documenting system performance and service logs. Compliance with NEC and OSHA standards is mandatory. Other common tasks include calibrating and adjusting electrical components for EV systems, inspecting and evaluating electrical equipment for safety, and working on energy storage systems and power electronics.

What You Need to Be a High Voltage EV Electrician

A valid electrician license with a high-voltage certification is a must. You should bring a deep understanding of EV systems and high-voltage safety standards to the table, along with experience working with EVSE equipment and protocols. Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic tools and PPE for HV environments is essential.

You should have at least 4-6 years of experience in the field. We’re looking for someone with strong technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members. Familiarity with energy storage systems and power electronics is also required.
