Core High Voltage DC Electrician Skills
Must have high-voltage DC experience; must be a licensed electrician with DC-specific training; must have a strong understanding of rectifiers, inverters, and battery systems; must possess knowledge of DC arc behavior and mitigation; must be capable of working with high-voltage PPE and diagnostic equipment
Main High Voltage DC Electrician Duties
Your main duties will include the installation and maintenance of high-voltage direct current systems. You will work on power distribution and conversion systems including rectifiers and inverters. It’s critical that you ensure DC arc flash safety standards are met. You will troubleshoot electrical faults in HVDC environments, read and interpret complex schematics, assist in commissioning new systems, monitor performance data and conduct preventative maintenance
