Your Responsibilities as a High Voltage Battery Electrician

As a High Voltage Battery Electrician, your day-to-day tasks will involve installing and maintaining high-voltage battery systems for electric vehicles (EV) or energy storage applications. This includes diagnosing performance issues and conducting thermal/voltage testing to ensure optimal performance.

You will be responsible for ensuring our operations comply with established safety standards and integrating batteries with inverters and charge controllers. You’ll also be expected to maintain logs and test data for future reference and assist with field retrofits and emergency repairs.

Other common daily activities might include training junior staff on safety protocols, attending project planning meetings, and staying updated on the latest battery technology advancements.

Qualifications for a High Voltage Battery Electrician

To be a successful High Voltage Battery Electrician, you need an electrical license coupled with a battery safety certification. You should have experience with lithium-ion and high-capacity storage systems and a deep understanding of charge-discharge cycles, BMS systems, and thermal management.
