The Electrician Helper Position

As an Electrician Helper on our team, you will be involved in a wide range of tasks daily. You will support our certified Electricians in preparing materials, cleaning work areas, and moving heavy equipment. You will also be responsible for running errands for parts and supplies, assisting during conduit installation and wire pulling, and ensuring job site safety. The team structure involves close supervision and mentorship from more experienced staff, providing a fantastic opportunity for growth and development within EV Careers.

Core Electrician Helper Responsibilities

Aside from the daily tasks mentioned above, you will also be responsible for setting up barriers and signs to ensure job site safety. Under the direction of more experienced staff, you will assist in basic troubleshooting and use of multimeters. You will also be tasked with advanced duties such as performing minor repairs, helping with electrical drafting and layout, and assisting in the installation of electrical panels. Safety protocols, such as wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to OSHA regulations, are paramount in this role.

Required Experience & Skills

We prefer candidates with prior construction or electrical labor experience and a minimum of 2-5 years working as an Electrician Helper. A high school diploma or GED is required, and candidates should have a safety-first mindset. Familiarity with basic hand and power tools, punctuality, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in heat or cold for extended periods are also essential. Certifications such as OSHA 10 or 30, First Aid/CPR, and NFPA 70E are highly desirable.

Tools & Equipment

Our Electrician Helpers use a variety of tools daily, including drills, saws, multimeters, and conduit benders. You will be required to provide your own hand tools, but larger, more expensive equipment will be provided by the company.

Physical Requirements

This role requires lifting heavy equipment, materials, and tools, often up to 50lbs. You will also be working in various conditions, both indoor and outdoor, in heat and cold. Appropriate safety gear, such as hard hats, safety glasses, and work boots, will be needed.
