Your Daily Tasks as an Electrician Helper

Your main role as an Electrician Helper is to provide support to our electricians. This involves preparing the materials they need for each day, ensuring the work areas are clean and safe, and moving heavy equipment as needed. You’ll also be required to run errands for parts and supplies, hold ladders and assist during conduit installation and wire pulling. You’ll be responsible for setting up barriers and signs to ensure the job site is safe. Additionally, you’ll assist in basic troubleshooting and use of multimeters under direction. Other daily activities include maintaining tools and equipment, and assisting in the installation of electrical systems.

What You Need to Be an Electrician Helper

To be an effective Electrician Helper, prior construction or electrical labor experience is preferred. A high school diploma or GED is required. You must have a safety-first mindset and be familiar with basic hand and power tools. Punctuality and a strong work ethic are crucial in this role. You should also have the ability to work in heat or cold for extended periods. Ideally, you would have spent 2-5 years in the field as an Electrician Helper. Key skills include good physical stamina, attention to detail, basic knowledge of electrical systems, and good communication skills.
