The Electrician Helper Position
Being an Electrician Helper on our team means more than just assisting our senior electricians. It involves taking on a diverse range of responsibilities, from preparing materials and cleaning work areas, to moving heavy equipment and running errands for parts and supplies. You’ll work in various environments and on different projects, always under the supervision of veteran electricians. Core Electrician Helper Responsibilities
As an Electrician Helper, you will be expected to support our electricians in various ways. This includes preparing materials, cleaning work areas, moving heavy equipment, running errands for parts and supplies, holding ladders during conduit installation and wire pulling, and ensuring job site safety by setting up barriers and signs. You’ll also assist in basic troubleshooting and the use of multimeters under direction. Advanced technical duties include assisting with circuit and wiring installations, working with low voltage systems, and performing basic electrical tests. Safety protocols are of utmost importance and will need to be adhered to strictly.
Required Experience & Skills
We prefer candidates with prior construction or electrical labor experience. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a safety-first mindset, familiarity with basic hand and power tools, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. You should be able to work in heat or cold for extended periods. A minimum of 2-5 years of experience as an Electrician Helper is essential. Certifications such as OSHA 10 Safety Training and basic First Aid are a plus. Technical knowledge of electrical systems and tools is necessary.
Tools & Equipment
Our Electrician Helpers frequently use tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, multimeters, and drills. You may be required to bring some personal tools, while company-provided equipment will be available for more specialized tasks.
Physical Requirements
An Electrician Helper’s job is physically demanding, requiring lifting and moving heavy equipment. You will need to be able to work in various conditions, from outdoor construction sites to indoor facilities. Safety gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots are necessary for the job.
