What You’ll Do as an Electrician Apprentice

As an Electrician Apprentice at EV Careers, you’ll be an essential part of our team, working on various electrical projects in West Columbia. Our current projects range from installing EV infrastructure to maintaining existing systems. On a day-to-day basis, you’ll learn on the job, assisting experienced electricians with important tasks, and gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills and knowledge increase.

Your Daily Tasks as an Electrician Apprentice

As an Electrician Apprentice, your work will involve participating in all stages of EV infrastructure installations. You’ll assemble and disassemble EV panels and disconnects under supervision, install wire trays and mounting systems, and accurately measure and cut conduit.

You’ll also be responsible for tracking inventory and logging hours, ensuring that our projects stay on track and within budget. Safety is always our top priority, so you’ll complete safety checklists and hazard assessments before each shift.

Studying and applying national and local electrical codes will be a daily part of your work, ensuring that all our installations meet the highest standards of safety and quality. Additionally, you’ll carry out troubleshooting tasks, perform preventive maintenance, and assist in the upgrading of existing systems.

What You Need to Be an Electrician Apprentice

To succeed as an Electrician Apprentice at EV Careers, you must be currently registered with a state-recognized apprenticeship program, and have at least 2 years of experience on construction or EV job sites. You need to be confident with basic hand tools and power drills, and eager to learn high-voltage applications.

CPR and First Aid certifications are a plus, and a positive attitude and coachable mindset are crucial. We’re looking for team players who are committed to learning and growing in their careers.
