The Electrician Apprentice Position

As an Electrician Apprentice with us, you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with experienced electricians on various EV infrastructure projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include assembling and disassembling EV panels and disconnects under supervision, installing wire trays, and accurately measuring and cutting conduit. You’ll work in diverse environments, from residential to commercial settings, under the guidance of our Senior Electricians. There’s significant growth potential at EV Careers, with opportunities for advancement to Journeyman and Master Electrician roles.

Core Electrician Apprentice Responsibilities

In addition to the general duties mentioned above, you will also be responsible for advanced technical tasks such as installing and maintaining EV charging stations, troubleshooting EV systems, and conducting regular maintenance checks. You will need to familiarize yourself with national and local electrical codes and apply them daily. Safety is paramount in our operations, so adhering to safety protocols and conducting hazard assessments before each shift is crucial.

Required Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate for this position will be registered with a state-recognized apprenticeship program and have 2+ years of experience on construction or EV job sites. Competency with basic hand tools and power drills, and an eagerness to learn high-voltage applications are essential. CPR and First Aid certifications are a plus. We value a positive attitude and coachability above all else.

Tools & Equipment

Our Electrician Apprentices regularly use tools such as wire strippers, multimeters, power drills, and conduit benders. While you are expected to have your own set of basic hand tools, the company provides specialized equipment like high-voltage gloves, insulated tools, and power drills.

Physical Requirements

The nature of the job requires physical strength and endurance. You should be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and work in various weather conditions. Safety gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, and high-visibility vests will be required at all times on the job site.

The compensation for this position ranges from $20.35-$26.21 per hour depending on experience.
