An active interest in EV technology and sustainability is critical, along with a basic understanding of electrical theory. This role is perfect for those actively working towards their journeyman licensure. Strong organizational skills and note-taking habits are essential, as is the ability to use tablets and specialized software tools on-site. The ability to maintain a customer-service friendly attitude when working on residential installs is also a necessity.

Main Electric Vehicle Apprentice Duties

As an Electric Vehicle Apprentice, you will work closely with our licensed EV electricians to learn the safe installation practices for Level 2 and Level 3 charging stations. You will assist with trenching and conduit placement, calibrate meters and sensors under supervision, and test charging station output using diagnostic tools. You will also monitor energy usage data, document any abnormalities, and prepare permit packets and inspection forms.
