Must Haves for Electric Vehicle Apprentice
Our ideal Electric Vehicle Apprentice should have 2-5 years of experience in a similar role. The candidate must have a keen interest in EV technology and sustainability along with a basic understanding of electrical theory. They should be actively pursuing a journeyman’s license. Strong note-taking and organizational skills are essential, as well as proficiency in using tablets and software tools on-site. The candidate should also have a customer-friendly demeanor for residential installs. The top 3 requirements are:
- 2-5 years of experience
- Basic knowledge of electrical theory
- Active pursuit of journeyman licensure
Key Electric Vehicle Apprentice Duties
As an Electric Vehicle Apprentice, you’ll work closely with our licensed EV electricians, learning safe installation practices for Level 2 and Level 3 charging stations. Your duties will include assisting with trenching and conduit placement, calibrating meters and sensors under supervision, and testing charging station output using diagnostic tools. You’ll also monitor energy usage data, document abnormalities, and prepare permit packets and inspection forms.
