Core Electric Vehicle Apprentice Skills
Ideal candidates have an interest in EV technology and sustainability, a basic understanding of electrical theory, are actively working toward a journeyman licensure, can effectively use tablets and software tools on-site, and possess strong note-taking and organizational habits. A customer-service friendly attitude when working on residential installs is also essential.
Main Electric Vehicle Apprentice Duties
You’ll be working closely with licensed EV electricians, learning safe installation practices for Level 2 and Level 3 charging stations. Duties include assisting with trenching and conduit placement, calibrating meters and sensors under supervision, testing charging station output using diagnostic tools, monitoring energy usage data and documenting abnormalities, and preparing permit packets and inspection forms.
