Core Electric Vehicle Apprentice Skills

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in electric vehicle technology and sustainability. They should possess a basic knowledge of electrical theory and be actively working toward journeyman licensure. Strong note-taking and organizational habits are crucial, as well as the ability to use tablets and software tools on-site. The candidate should also be customer-service friendly when working on residential installs.

Main Electric Vehicle Apprentice Duties

The apprentice will work closely with licensed EV electricians to learn safe installation practices for Level 2 and Level 3 charging stations. Duties include assisting with trenching and conduit placement, calibrating meters and sensors with supervision, and testing charging station output using diagnostic tools. Additionally, the apprentice will monitor energy usage data, document abnormalities, and prepare permit packets and inspection forms.
