Required skills include an interest in EV technology and sustainability, a basic understanding of electrical theory, active pursuit of journeyman licensure, and strong note-taking and organizational habits. The ideal candidate is comfortable using tablets and software tools on-site and displays excellent customer service skills when working on residential installs.

Main Electric Vehicle Apprentice Duties

The Electric Vehicle Apprentice will work closely with licensed EV electricians to learn safe installation practices for Level 2 and Level 3 charging stations. Tasks include assisting with trenching and conduit placement, calibrating meters and sensors under supervision, testing charging station output using diagnostic tools, monitoring energy usage data, documenting abnormalities, and preparing permit packets and inspection forms.
