The Electric Vehicle Apprentice Position
As an Electric Vehicle Apprentice on our team, your day-to-day responsibilities will include assisting our licensed EV electricians in installing Level 2 and Level 3 charging stations. You will engage in a variety of projects, from residential to commercial, and work under the supervision of experienced professionals who guide your growth within our company.
Core Electric Vehicle Apprentice Responsibilities
Under the guidance of our licensed EV electricians, you will learn safe installation practices for EV charging stations. Tasks include assisting with trenching and conduit placement, calibrating meters and sensors, and testing charging station output using diagnostic tools. You will monitor energy usage data, document abnormalities, and prepare permit packets and inspection forms. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical issues, maintaining EV charging equipment, and enforcing strict safety protocols.
Required Experience & Skills
We are looking for an individual passionate about EV technology and sustainability with basic knowledge of electrical theory. You should be keen on pursuing your journeyman licensure and demonstrate strong note-taking and organizational capabilities. Proficiency in using tablets and software tools on-site is required, and excellent customer service skills are essential when working on residential installs.
Tools & Equipment
Our Electric Vehicle Apprentices frequently use a variety of tools, including multimeters, cable cutters, and wire strippers. You will need to provide your own basic hand tools, while specialized equipment, such as diagnostic tools and heavy machinery, will be provided by the company.
Physical Requirements
The role involves lifting heavy equipment, so physical fitness is essential. You will be working in a variety of conditions, both indoor and outdoor, and safety gear, including helmets, gloves, and protective eyewear, is mandatory.
