The DC Infrastructure Electrician Position

As a DC Infrastructure Electrician at EV Careers, you will play a crucial role in our projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve installing and maintaining direct current infrastructure including wiring, conduits, and panels. You will work with low- and medium-voltage DC systems, ensuring code and safety compliance at all times. You will also support telecom, solar, and battery backup systems, and troubleshoot control circuits. You will be part of a close-knit team, working under the supervision of experienced professionals, with ample opportunities for growth within our company.

Core DC Infrastructure Electrician Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will include the coordination with engineers on layout and system design. You will also be responsible for the installation and termination of cabling for distributed systems, troubleshooting of control circuits, and ensuring the maintenance of safety protocols. Specific duties will include working on regional projects such as solar farms and telecom towers, and advanced technical duties such as programming and configuring DC system controls.

Required Experience & Skills

We require a licensed electrician with a strong understanding of DC system behavior and safety, and the ability to install and terminate cabling for distributed systems. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a DC Infrastructure Electrician is essential, along with specific certifications such as an Electrician Certification or a DC Power Certification. You should also have a strong technical knowledge of DC systems, including telecom, solar, or battery systems.

Tools & Equipment

Our DC Infrastructure Electricians use a variety of tools on a daily basis, including wire strippers, crimping tools, multimeters, and oscilloscopes. Some personal tools may be required, but the majority of equipment will be provided by the company. This includes safety gear, ladders, and power tools.

Physical Requirements

The role of a DC Infrastructure Electrician involves heavy lifting, with requirements to lift and carry loads of up to 50lbs. You will be working in various conditions, sometimes at height, and often outdoors. Safety gear such as hard hats, gloves, and safety glasses will be required at all times.
