The Commercial Apprentice Position

As a Commercial Apprentice at EV Careers, you’ll play a vital role in our team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include assisting in commercial-grade EV electrical installations, interpreting basic blueprints, and pulling wire through raceways. You’ll also get to work in a variety of environments and on diverse projects. Core Commercial Apprentice Responsibilities

In your role as a Commercial Apprentice, you’ll be expected to install low-voltage control wiring for smart EV systems and support panel upgrades and load center installations. Additionally, maintaining accurate records of material use and time logs is crucial. You’ll also need to learn and adhere to commercial code requirements. Advanced technical duties will include troubleshooting electrical problems, installing commercial lighting systems, and managing EV charging station installations. Safety protocols are paramount at EV Careers, and you’ll be expected to follow them rigorously.

Required Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate for the Commercial Apprentice role would have completed at least 1 year in an apprenticeship program. A solid understanding of commercial wiring systems and the ability to read simple one-line diagrams are essential. We prefer candidates with an OSHA 10-hour certification. Attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions exactly, and strong math and measuring skills are crucial. You should have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a Commercial Apprentice.

Tools & Equipment

As a Commercial Apprentice, you’ll be using a variety of specific tools including wire strippers, multimeters, and conduit benders. You’ll need to bring your own hand tools, such as screwdrivers and pliers, but we’ll provide all the heavy-duty equipment.

Physical Requirements

There will be lifting requirements in this role, so you should be able to lift up to 50 lbs. The working conditions can be challenging, as you’ll often be working in confined spaces or at heights. Safety gear including hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots are essential.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $21.62-$27.35 per hour, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage.
