The Apprentice Electrician Position

As an Apprentice Electrician at EV Careers, you’ll be part of a team of experienced professionals, working under the supervision of seasoned Journeyman Electricians. Your daily tasks will include assisting in the installation and testing of EV charging stations, pulling wire, bending conduit, and maintaining tools and worksite cleanliness. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn how to read blueprints and circuit diagrams, following NEC guidelines for low-voltage and 240V installations. This position offers significant growth potential within the company, with opportunities for advancement and continuous learning.

Core Apprentice Electrician Responsibilities

In addition to the tasks mentioned above, you will also be expected to attend weekly safety meetings and hands-on training sessions. You’ll shadow Journeyman Electricians during installations and repairs, gaining vital first-hand experience. You will also be expected to undertake advanced duties such as troubleshooting electrical issues, installing conduit systems, and maintaining electrical systems. Safety is paramount in our work, and you will be expected to adhere to all safety protocols.

Required Experience & Skills

To qualify for the Apprentice Electrician position, you should be enrolled in a certified electrician apprenticeship program, with a basic understanding of electrical theory and safety. You should be willing to work in outdoor and industrial environments and be able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders. Strong communication and team collaboration skills are also vital. You should have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. We also require a minimum of 2-5 years of experience as an Apprentice Electrician.

Tools & Equipment

Our Apprentice Electricians use a range of tools, including wire strippers, conduit benders, multimeters, and cable cutters. You’re expected to have your own basic hand tools, while larger, more specialized equipment will be provided by the company.

Physical Requirements

This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in a variety of conditions. Safety gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, and work boots will be needed.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $21.67-$27.57 per hour, depending on experience.
