Apprentice Electrician Position Overview

EV Careers is urgently seeking an Apprentice Electrician to join our team in Shelbyville, TN. This position is vital to the successful installation and maintenance of our electrical systems, including EV charging stations. As an Apprentice Electrician, you will assist our experienced electricians, learn to read blueprints, and adhere to NEC guidelines under supervision.

Must Haves for Apprentice Electrician

Candidates must have 2-5 years of experience as an Apprentice Electrician and must be enrolled in a certified electrician apprenticeship program. A basic understanding of electrical theory and safety is crucial. You must be willing and able to work in outdoor and industrial environments, lift up to 50 lbs, and climb ladders. Strong communication and team collaboration skills are also necessary. Lastly, a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Key Apprentice Electrician Duties

In this role, you will assist in installing and testing EV charging stations and pull wire and bend conduit under supervision. You will be responsible for maintaining tools and worksite cleanliness. It’s important you learn to read blueprints and circuit diagrams as well as follow NEC guidelines for low-voltage and 240V installations. Additionally, you will attend weekly safety meetings and hands-on training as well as shadow journeyman electricians during EVSE installations and repairs.
