Core Apprentice Electrician Skills

Enrollment in a certified electrician apprenticeship program is required. Candidates should have a basic understanding of electrical theory and safety. A willingness to work in outdoor and industrial environments is crucial. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders is needed. Strong communication and team collaboration skills are valued. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are essential.

Main Apprentice Electrician Duties

The Apprentice Electrician will assist in installing and testing EV charging stations. They will be required to pull wire and bend conduit under supervision. Maintaining tools and worksite cleanliness is a part of the duties. Apprentice Electricians will learn to read blueprints and circuit diagrams, and follow NEC guidelines for low-voltage and 240V installations. They will attend weekly safety meetings and hands-on training, and shadow journeyman electricians during EVSE installations and repairs.
