The Apprentice Electrician Position

As an Apprentice Electrician at EV Careers, your day-to-day responsibilities will entail aiding in the installation and testing of EV charging stations, pulling wires, bending conduit under supervision. You will be part of a tight-knit team, working under the direct supervision of experienced journeyman electricians. Core Apprentice Electrician Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will include assisting journeyman electricians during EVSE installations and repairs, learning to read blueprints and circuit diagrams, following NEC guidelines for low-voltage and 240V installations, and attending weekly safety meetings. You will also have the opportunity to work on regional projects, adhere to strict safety protocols, and undertake advanced technical duties such as troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues, conducting routine maintenance, and performing equipment inspections.

Required Experience & Skills

Applicants should be enrolled in a certified electrician apprenticeship program and have a basic understanding of electrical theory and safety. A willingness to work in outdoor and industrial environments, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders, strong communication, and team collaboration skills are essential. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are also required. We expect our Apprentice Electricians to have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a similar role, essential certifications, and a solid technical knowledge base.

Tools & Equipment

Our Apprentice Electricians regularly use specific tools such as wire strippers, conduit benders, multimeters, and power tools. You will be expected to maintain your personal hand tools, but the company will provide specialized equipment and power tools needed for the job.

Physical Requirements

The Apprentice Electrician role involves lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in a variety of conditions, from residential settings to industrial job sites. Safety gear including hard hats, safety glasses, and high-viz vests are necessary and provided by the company.

Our Apprentice Electricians earn a competitive salary ranging from $21.62-$27.52 per hour depending on experience.
