What You’ll Do as an Apprentice Electrician

As an Apprentice Electrician at EV Careers in Denver, CO, you’ll be involved in a wide array of tasks and projects. Our current focus is on installing EV charging stations across the city, and you’ll be right at the heart of this exciting initiative. The role is hands-on, often challenging, but also rewarding. You’ll be working under the supervision of experienced journeyman electricians, learning the ropes and gradually taking on more responsibilities as you progress.

Your Daily Tasks as an Apprentice Electrician

A typical day might involve assisting in the installation and testing of EV charging stations, pulling wire, and bending conduit. You’ll learn to read blueprints and circuit diagrams and follow NEC guidelines for low-voltage and 240V installations. Maintaining tools and worksite cleanliness is also an integral part of the role. We hold weekly safety meetings, which you’ll attend, and you’ll also benefit from regular hands-on training sessions. As you gain experience, you’ll have the opportunity to shadow journeyman electricians during EVSE installations and repairs.

What You Need to Be an Apprentice Electrician

To be considered for the Apprentice Electrician role, you should be enrolled in a certified electrician apprenticeship program and have a basic understanding of electrical theory and safety. A willingness to work in outdoor and industrial environments is essential, as is the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders. We’re looking for team players with strong communication skills, a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Previous experience in a similar role would be a plus, but it’s not a deal-breaker. What’s most important is your enthusiasm, dedication, and desire to learn.
