Apprentice Electrician Position Overview

EV Careers is in immediate need of an Apprentice Electrician for our Covington, KY location. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the installation and testing of EV charging stations as well as performing a variety of electrical tasks under the supervision of journeyman electricians. This includes maintaining tools, ensuring worksite cleanliness, and learning to read blueprints and circuit diagrams.

Must Haves for Apprentice Electrician

Our Apprentice Electrician must possess 2-5 years experience in the same role. Enrollment in a certified electrician apprenticeship program is crucial. Basic knowledge of electrical theory and safety is required, as well as a willingness to work in various environments, including outdoor and industrial settings. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and communicate effectively within a team setting is also essential. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is a must.

Key Apprentice Electrician Duties

As an Apprentice Electrician, you will assist in installing and testing EV charging stations and pull wire and bend conduit under supervision. You will be responsible for maintaining tools and ensuring worksite cleanliness. You will learn to read blueprints and circuit diagrams and follow NEC guidelines for low-voltage and 240V installations. Attending weekly safety meetings and hands-on training sessions, as well as shadowing journeyman electricians during EVSE installations and repairs, are also part of your duties.
