What You’ll Do as an Apprentice Electrician

As an Apprentice Electrician at EV Careers in Chandler, AZ, you’ll be an integral part of our dynamic team working on cutting-edge EV charging station installations. This role isn’t just about learning the ropes; it’s about getting your hands dirty and making a real impact on our projects. You’ll be directly involved in the installation and testing of EV charging stations, working under the guidance of experienced journeyman electricians.

Your Daily Tasks as an Apprentice Electrician

Your main responsibilities will include assisting in the installation and testing of EV charging stations. You’ll learn to pull wire, bend conduit, and maintain the cleanliness of your worksite. A key aspect of your role will be learning to read blueprints and circuit diagrams, as well as following NEC guidelines for low-voltage and 240V installations.

You’ll attend weekly safety meetings and hands-on training sessions to continually enhance your skills. Shadowing our journeyman electricians during EVSE installations and repairs will also be a crucial part of your daily tasks. In addition, you will be asked to conduct electrical equipment inspections and perform routine maintenance tasks.

What You Need to Be an Apprentice Electrician

To qualify for this role, you’ll need to be enrolled in a certified electrician apprenticeship program. A basic understanding of electrical theory and safety is essential. You must be willing to work in outdoor and industrial environments, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and climb ladders.

Strong communication and team collaboration skills are paramount in this role, as you’ll be working closely with other electricians and tradesmen on site. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are also required. Ideally, you should have spent 2-5 years in the field as an Apprentice Electrician, gaining hands-on experience.
