The Apprentice Electrician Position

Being an Apprentice Electrician on our team means diving headfirst into the world of electric vehicle technology. The day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in the installation and testing of EV charging stations, pulling wire, bending conduit, and maintaining a clean workspace. Our Apprentice Electricians also learn to read blueprints and circuit diagrams and follow NEC guidelines for low-voltage and 240V installations. You’ll be working under the supervision of seasoned Journeyman Electricians, offering a fantastic opportunity for growth and development within EV Careers.

Core Apprentice Electrician Responsibilities

As an Apprentice Electrician, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and grow in your role. Alongside the duties mentioned above, you’ll also attend weekly safety meetings, participate in hands-on training, and shadow Journeyman Electricians during EVSE installations and repairs. Advanced technical duties include troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, conducting system tests, and installing circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. We also expect our Apprentice Electricians to adhere to regional project specifics and stringent safety protocols.

Required Experience & Skills

To join our team, you need to be enrolled in a certified electrician apprenticeship program and have a basic understanding of electrical theory and safety. A willingness to work in outdoor and industrial environments is essential, as is the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders. Strong communication and team collaboration skills are a must, along with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. We expect our candidates to have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience as an Apprentice Electrician.

Tools & Equipment

Our Apprentice Electricians use a variety of tools daily, including wire strippers, conduit benders, and multimeters. While we provide most of the necessary equipment, some personal tools, such as a reliable tape measure and hand tools, are required.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this job include regular lifting of up to 50lbs, climbing ladders, and working in a variety of environmental conditions. We also require our Apprentice Electricians to use safety gear such as safety glasses, gloves, and hard hats.
