Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and construction sites. Your expertise will ensure the safety, efficiency, and reliability of electrical infrastructure while adhering to all safety standards and electrical codes. Responsibilities • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments using schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction blueprints to accurately execute projects. • Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to diagnose issues and verify proper operation of electrical components. • Work with low voltage systems including control wiring for programmable logic controllers (PLCs), security systems, and communication networks. • Follow National Electrical Code (NEC) standards to ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry best practices. • Collaborate with construction teams on renovation projects, framing carpentry tasks, and general handyman duties as needed. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to OSHA guidelines and company safety protocols throughout all phases of work. • Document work performed through detailed reports and logs for project tracking and compliance purposes. Requirements • Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification with proven experience in industrial or commercial electrical work. • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. • Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of framing carpentry and renovation processes. • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other electrical testing devices. • Strong understanding of low voltage wiring systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and high voltage systems up to 600 volts. • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards for safe installation practices. • Prior experience working with schematics for industrial automation or control systems is highly desirable. • Ability to work safely at heights or in confined spaces as required by project specifications. • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to troubleshooting electrical issues on diverse construction sites. • Handyman experience or background in renovation projects is a plus.
